Description
-NEW- Solenoid Valve 1/4 Normally Closed (N.C. The direct current coil energizes at 12 volts DC;voltage range +- 10%. 4.8 Watt power rating. Direct lift valve operates from 0 PSI to a maximum pressure of 145 PSI (0 MPa to 1.0 MPa). Operational pressure range for water: 0 to 101 PSI; for oil: 0 to 72 PSI; for air or gases: 0 to 101 PSI. (2.5 mm) flow aperture permits a unidirectional flow capacity of 0.23 gallons per minute (GPM) of water at 60°F with a pressure drop of 1 PSI (0.23 Cv). Suitable for use with hot or cold water, gas, air, and very low viscosity fluids (< 20 cst). NOT designed for use with gasoline or organic solvents. Solid valves are unidirectional. This means they are intended for flow in one direction only, in the direction of the arrow. See Figure 1 for location of arrow. If connected in opposite direction, the valve will not actuate properly (will not close for Normally Closed valves). Additionally, be sure the medium passing through is filtered. If not, particles will cling to the gasket over time, which can cause it to not seal properly. National Pipe Thread, Standard USA thread (use Teflon tape to seal)THREADING U.S. Solid Valves follow National Standards for pipe thread. In the U.S.A. we use NPT, while in England we use BSPT. We recommend use of Teflon tape to ensure seal of the NPT threading, as shown in Figure 2. The tapered male and female thread are forming angled surfaces that with increased torque squeeze the Teflon tape that results in a tight seal. It is suitable to liquids, gases and even for high vacuum. NPT seal is known to be use even in UHV (Ultra High Vacuum) applications. POLARITY For valves with 2 wires, the valve will actuate regardless of which terminal each wire is connected to (+ or -). Some units, like those pictured to the left, include a ground wire. For the other two wires, the valve will actuate regardless of which terminal each wire is connected to (+ or -). If necessary to energize continously for extended periods, we recommend a computer fan to keep the coil cool. GASOLINE WARNING This solenoid valve comes with a NBR gasket. NBR gaskets are not intended for use with gasoline, kerosene, or other petroleum products. If your valve is needed for these, please purchase a valve with a VITON gasket. PRESSURE All solenoid valves need some pressure to actuate. Robust and Resilient Construction: Crafted with a durable Nylon engineering plastic body to ensure long-lasting performance and reliability. Secure and Leak-Proof Connections: Enhanced with precision-engineered 1/4 female threaded (NPT) connections and high-quality nitrile rubber (NBR) seals for airtight and leak-free operation. Versatile and Multi-Functional Applications: Compatible with a wide range of fluids including hot or cold water, natural gas, air, and low viscosity fluids, catering to diverse industrial and residential needs. Superior Water Resistance: Boasts an impressive IP65 rating, showcasing exceptional protection against water spray and ensuring optimal functionality even in challenging environments. Customer-Centric Design: Preferred by discerning users for its adaptability in DIY projects, suitability for moderate temperature applications, water exchange in aquariums, air horn installations, and efficient moisture bleeding from air tanks.
